First post

Yuccas are alien. The have encroached on our shores in a slow tide of shiny leaved spikiness.
Yuccas originate from southern United States (I am assuming Texas, Arizona etc). They are desert dwelling plants that would normally harbor small dusty rodents and the occasional scorpion, and here, this insidious invader can be seen in the every road, in every town in our fair land.

Yuccas can be found in front gardens, on window ledges, in skips and occupying the centre of many a local parks’ ornamental flowerbed. They are no respecter of income or social position. Yuccas are the alien children of each and every one of us.

In an effort to bring the spread of the urban yucca to the public consciousness, enshrined in this blog, is my ever increasing collection of photo evidence (as and when I get the images scanned!)
