Spooky

This a picture of the allotment on Sunday.

On Saturday, having uploaded a picture of my newly laid out potatoes (well I find it exciting) I searched Flickr for photos tagged with the word allotment and was a confronted with picture of the allotment I have a plot on, but from a different angle.

This proves one of two things:
1) The world is shrinking and (as Giles the poster of the aforementioned pictures said) Flickr can be both global and local. Or;
2) We are living in an elaborate Truman Show type setup in which I never really go very far from my home and any memories of foreign travel have been artificially implanted by a benign but manipulative TV producer.

I favour option 2 – option 1 is too unlikely.

I must be getting old, I really was quite excited when my search for “Newly laid potatoes” found your blog.

It doesn’t matter how many times I tell myself that allotments are the new punk, deep down I know that now I’ve hit 35 chitting and horse manure will become increasingly more interesting.

We’ve had our allotment for a few weeks now and looking through your Flickr pages you’ve already done all the hard work that I’m in the middle of. It’s back breaking init.

Anyway, nice blog I’ll visit again.

By the way, don’t try to take credit for the “Red Laky Band” game I invented that!

Thanks for the nice comments - always good to know that others are getting excited about tatties.

If allotments are the new punk, does that make gardens the New Romantics?

BTW - My lawyers will be in touch about the Red Elastic Band Game®
