Racist media? What’s in a name.
I wonder if there would have been such a media storm if it was Misbah Iram Ahmed Rana who had been taken to Pakistan rather than Molly Campbell.
I confess to initially thinking - how awful, a poor little British girl suddenly plunged into a completely different culture by her cruel pakistani father who wanted to marry her off to some 67 year old letch. But how much of that thought was because she was called Molly?
I listened to her brother on Radio4 saying “I have no idea where the name Molly Campbell came from - her name is Mishbah”.
Also it seems that Misbah’s mother made up a lot of stuff (like the marriage story) to get the authorities/media on her side.
Whilst it’s always a bad thing when children’s lives are disrupted by family breakups, especially when one parent lives in a far away place - I just don’t think that most cases like this make the news when the children have names like Yusaf or Mohammed.

I’m 100% sure, that the MSMedia would have kept completely quite, if it were a black father who had kidnapped his 12 year old mixed daughter and taken her to Jamaica. Why because, during the 60’s blacks were treated like animals (remember - no blacks no dogs signs on shop fronts), when the blacks had enough they snapped, they started to riot/steal and burn down shops/loot from shops/ cities/towns, they even gang raped thousands of young white girls for years (some still doing it), to teach whites a lesson (not to mess with blacks), and it had worked, now whites are completely scared and even sacrifice their women/underage daughters for the fear of getting beaten or killed, they look the other way, even marry wealthy white girls to poor street blacks, blacks have finally gained their respect, through pure violence, even in USA, i take my hat of to them. Muslims are now at that same stage (their getting tired). Seems like the only language ‘educated’ white people learn is from ‘pure violence’. Just hope Muslims in 2006 keep their cool and don’t snap in racist UK.
