Hijab Hubub

This whole veil/no veil debate is confusing.

The liberal part of me thinks that people should be able to wear what they want. The headlines reading reactionary part of me thinks that wearing a mask when dealing with primary school kids is a bit wrong.

Here’s the thing no-one is saying. Covering your face with a cloth with eye holes is stupid.

Here is a list of other people who wear bits of cloth with holes cut in them

Apart from the essential work performed by highly skilled workers in the cloth aperture industry, the other reasons are stupid.

Please don’t think for a second that I have any racial issues going on here - I just think that the human race should now have grown up enough to stop believing in spooky ghost stories and ridiculous superstitions based on four thousand year old desert religions.

Wow - Alexei Sayle is a tosser!

Who’d have thought it?

I never really ‘got’ Alexei’s brand of comedy. I think I was 3 years to young to really enjoy the Young Ones, and his stand up just seemed angry. I always assumed that he’d be a fairly nice bloke - left wing, funny, mellowing with age etc.

However, I have just watched “Mark Lawson Talks to…” - an hour long interview program you watch as a last resort, because, despite a million other channels, it’s the only program that may be watchable. Alexei Sayle spent most of the time telling Lawson how original he is and what shit, fame grabbing, artistically bankrupt people Ben Elton, Reeves & Mortimer, Fry & Laurie and a host of others are.

I felt the whole interview was extremely uncomfortable. Sayle came across as a bitter, jealous man who hasn’t even the good grace to shut up about how disappointed he is that he isn’t as successful as Ben Elton.

What a cock.

Solution to the increase in school shootings in the US

Surely it’s obvious. When will the US government wake up and smell the coffee.

It’s time to arm the pupils. Armed pupils will act as a deterent to anyone who thinks they can run amock in a school killing kids.

It seems to have worked in other walks of life in the states. Oh, no….
