Which reminds me of a poster in the NICU in Lewisham Hospital which read: "THE FIRST FIVE MINUTES OF LIFE ARE THE MOST DANGEROUS". Some wag had scrawled underneath 'the last 5 minutes aren't much fun either'. Various of my nearest & dearest have been in hospital a few times over the last 10 years, and the only nurses who seemed really to care were those in neo-natal intensive care.
