National rail grinds to halt.

This is the amount of snow (I believe ‘dusting’ is the correct term) for all of the trains in the south-east to become fucked.

Also, to celebrate the snow fall, and the reduced service Southeastern Trains also cut the number of carriages on some of the services.

At Hither Green station they have put down about 2 tonnes of salt. They’ve even salted the foot tunnel. Now, I’m not a weatherman, but I’m guessing that for the foot tunnel to freeze over it’d have to be at least -10 centigrade outside. So, given that the trains all stopped in 1 inch of snow and temperatures above freezing, take comfort - there may be no trains, but you won’t slip in the foot tunnel.

i went through that tunnel on friday, it looked like it’s been snowing

I’m guessing it’s only a matter of time before the footbridge rusts through…
