Hopefully the fences will be high enough.

No names for the three ‘Brown Ranger’ hybrids yet. I personally don’t want to name them, but I think I’m in the minority - working on the rule that Milo’s opinion is represented by Debra.

Fantastic accommodation :) . Do you have foxes around though? Because they will jump that fence, no problem, although the chooks probably won’t jump out.

Well, I’m told that no foxes have been seen in these parts for some time - but the chickens will get locked up each night.

you urban (or is it urbane?) foxes wouldn’t last five minutes out here in the countryside.

In London the foxes were so numerous and so unafraid that one even snuck up behind me and stole my gloves when I was at the allotment. Since moving to Kent, however, I haven’t seen a single one. Not even road kill.

That’s good - this time of year if they’re around, they’re often feeding cubs and will take a hen during the day - the equivalent of popping down to Greggs for a pie for the kiddies :) .

And I understand that townie do-gooders collect up urbane foxes and dump them in the country, so that they can ‘have a better life’.
