And I understand that townie do-gooders collect up urbane foxes and dump them in the country, so that they can 'have a better life'. In London the foxes were so numerous and so unafraid that one even snuck up behind me and stole my gloves when I was at the allotment. Since moving to Kent, however, I haven't seen a single one.
